Some 100,000 more Wal-Mart employees have health insurance today than three years ago. That’s not by accident, according to a report in the New York Times. Two years ago, Wal-Mart was a punching bag for unions and Democrats interested in running for president. Two states passed laws that forced the rural retailer to provide health insurance. Today, things have mellowed because Wal-Mart has changed. The company has made health insurance cheaper and easier to purchase. There are even signs the company may be getting into the health insurance business.
