A little ditty making the rounds is entitled “10 Myths From the Mainstream Media About U.S. Farm Policy.” Normally, we think references to the “mainstream media” are lazy. But then the other day we had an editor at the Washington Post tell us a farmer friend was rolling in the dough — when he was really rolling in the mud. So, bring it on.

The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy produced the ten myths. For example: Myth 1: “Rich farmers get all the money from the Farm Bill.” Reality: “Sixty-eight percent of the Farm Bill goes to nutrition programs. Eleven percent goes to farm commodity programs. And eight goes to conservation programs.”

There are nine more, covering exports, family farms and all those “rich” farmers out there who are wondering how they are going to plant corn in a flood. Check it out.
