Rural Summit thumb

Growing local? Promoting rural tourism? Or just looking for ideas about how to strengthen your small town’s economy?

The Association for Enterprise Opportunity has announced a Rural Summit to scale all these mountains May 20, in Anaheim, California.

Winona LaDuke of the White Earth Land Recovery Project and Brian Dabson from the Rural Policy Research Institute are key speakers. As well, participants will have many opportunities, “instructional and conversational,” to learn more about small business development. One focus will be AEO’s Regional Flavor program, combining cultural tourism and sales of local agricultural products into new microenterprises in six states. There will also be a rural funders panel.

See the Rural Summit site for all the details. Cost is $75, and scholarships are available.
