Farm Bill is Nothing but ‘False Reform’

When is reform nothing more than a sip of warm water?

The Center for Rural Affairs has conducted an analysis of the farm bills passed by the US Senate and the House, and has found that it would change almost nothing. Only five farmers in the seven states CFRA examined would see a reduction in direct payments in the Senate bill. None would lose under the House bill. However, AFTER reform, the House bill would increase payments to 73 large farms.

CFRA concludes: Ultimately, the data presented here...demonstrate the complete ineffectiveness of the so-called "reform" measures in the House and Senate-passed farm bills."
